There are just six more days until the nodes move out of Taurus and Scorpio where they have been since January 2022. The lunar nodes take over 18 years to return to the same spot in the zodiac, meaning we won’t encounter them in this configuration again until 2040. Particularly with the South Node in Scorpio, the demand for presence with our own personal flavor of primordial darkness has been high. The need to shed, purge, integrate, rediscover love within hidden places and beneath an ominous cloak has been a relentless guide throughout this time.
In many ways both unconscious energy and conscious unprocessed energy can be described as the weighty feeling of debt. The unspoken conversation that seems to cover your chest like wet sand, the interest accruing on unpaid credit and loans haunting your sleep cycle, unfelt grief spanning generations solidifying in your heart, being consumed and restricted by what we believe others owe us. Debt.

Debt is proof of life lived.
Can we understand that to be alive means we will continue to be processing and working with debt in various tangible and intangible forms throughout our whole lives? Simply because it is proof and part of being alive? Sometimes that proof is from our own life or from the lives of others but it is always evidence of life.
Can we be proud of and honor the debts we forgave, were forgiven, paid off, embraced, transmuted, found an alternative currency to absolve, still walk beside, do not know what to do with?
Debt does not need to be psychically carried with us in every moment. To understand that we get to exist in the full lightness of our being while recognizing debt as part of our life is a gratitude practice to both the past and the future.
We can reimagine debt and contemplate if it is even “real” from a higher spiritual perspective if we so wish but I feel like naming and facing it directly with a level of detachment and as an inherent part of being alive to be very practical and useful. Being able to know our survival on this planet and the debts we are born with, gather and take on as result, as significant, worthy, beautiful even, allows room to continue meeting ourselves and others with dignity regardless of the debts we continue to be in relationship with in this life.
We are all learning to remember our lightness, the most free and unbound version of ourselves, which some may refer to as the higher self or soul. It takes time to work through debt, this is Saturnian weight with Plutonic depths coming together into a solidity that can feel insurmountable. The point of this being a pressure which forms diamonds, the intensification of time which uncovers more of us. It is easy to forget under the constricting force of Debt the simultaneous truth of our lightness.
This week with the South Node at 0 degrees Scorpio having traversed through the entirety of this sign over the last year and half to finally make it here, I encourage everyone who feels called to access in whatever way you can how it feels to release the weight of debt from your being and let it walk beside you for a while instead. How does this change your perception of what is possible for your life? How does it make you feel about the debt from this more detached/neutral place? How do you feel about yourself from this angle?
We all deserve to experience our full radiance regardless of the debts we are called by our soul to work with in this life. When the North Node moves into Aries on the 17th I hope we are all ready to embody an unburdened renewal of self after making it through this time. The nodes will be square Pluto in the sky until the end of this year, offering a continued opportunity of release as we collectively figure out what it feels like to be so fresh.
